MESL will be working alongside NOC to study Deep-sea Mineral Deposits

MESL will be working alongside NOC together with other companies, universities and policy makers to study Deep-sea Mineral Deposits. MarineE-tech, a £4.2M research programme funded by NERC (UK) and FAPESP (Brazil), will assess deep ocean ferromanganese deposits, a major resource of elements that include cobalt, tellurium and the rare earths used in E-technologies.

CEM of Shallow Sublittoral Mud Habitats to Inform Indicator Selection

MESL has published the third JNCC report on Conceptual Ecological Models (CEMs) of sublittoral Habitats in the UK. The report discusses a series of CEMs for the marine habitat ‘Shallow Sublittoral Mud’. The models produced by this project will be used to inform indicator selection for the monitoring of this habitat type in UK waters.
