Culver Sands Extension Survey

MESL was recently commissioned by the Resource Management Association (RMA) to conduct a benthic baseline survey of Area 526, known as Culver Extension, in the inner Bristol Channel in support of  a dredging licence application. MESL has been working alongside our sister company Titan Environmental Surveys to conduct the field work element of the project which was completed in October.

The Culver Extension project involved sample collection for macrofaunal and sediment analyses by the MESL laboratory team as well as consequential data analysis and reporting. The data generated from this characterisation survey will help determine the local relationships between sediment and fauna, which will further be used to assess the acceptable levels of change in sediment as a result of dredging activity in the area.
